Tuesday Transfer Update – June 16th

In the week BDS Esports upset Mousesports to win the Eurocup 10K, we saw plenty of exciting roster moves. Here’s this week’s transfer update.

NRG Esports signs SquishyMuffinz

No, Reddit has not taken over the internet. NRG Esports has assembled what is likely to be the most popular roster of all time. Squishy will be replacing Turbopolsa; the Swede was integral in securing the Season 8 Championship for NRG and is now looking for opportunities on both sides of the pond.

Cloud9 leave Rocket League

With Squishy presumably intending to leave the org for several weeks prior to his departure, Cloud9 made the decision to leave the RL esports space. Jack Etienne, CEO of Cloud9 had the following to say: “I love Rocket League and wanted to continue… I hope to return…”

The remaining components of the roster will play under Rat Enterprises for the time being. They will be trialling Allushin in the Brawl 10K, which starts tonight.

Justice Esports ceases operations

Justice Esports, the Australian org which placed 5th in RLOC Seasons 6 and 7 has ceased operations. This development comes only a month and a half after signing a new roster. All signs point to the players parting ways.

Awkward Monkeys?!

The Awkward Turtles roster of Mittaen, Tahz and eekso, has renamed to Monkeys. The roster also used the moniker “Tree of a Kind” for FUSION Europe. The change is likely connected to eekso joining the roster in place of Kash.

Mousesports and Lethamyr part ways

In a twitlonger published last Friday, Lethamyr announced that he was no longer coaching the mousesports roster. This follows rumours that mousesports will be the third team with a European RLCS spot to leave the RL Esports scene

Tom Hurrell

Community Manager for Rocket Kingdom. Sigmσyd first joined the Rocket League scene in late 2016 as an editor at Liquipedia, but he is better known in the high school esports community for founding and managing AGSB Esports. Tom is the community manager for Rocket Kingdom, meaning he's in charge of managing website content, liasing with other UK event organisers and keeping the mod team happy.
